Career Coaching: Educational Advising and College Counseling
Sending your child to college can be a $50,000 to $200,000 investment. Since most jobs in the 21st century will require a high degree of technical expertise and training, it is vital to ensure your time and funds are judiciously spent. That’s a lot of money for someone who is “not sure”:
NOT SURE of what school to attend
NOT SURE of what major to seek as a course of study
NOT SURE of what career to pursue
NOT SURE of “What I want to do.”
NOT SURE of “the job search I’ll make”
That uncertainty can be very costly with lost credits, change of major, transfer to another school, or even just dropping out (an all-to-common occurrence), affecting up to 50% of all graduating high school students according to the National Occupation Information Coordinating Committee (NOICC) and findings of the American School Counseling Association (ASCA). Through ASCA and National Career Development Guidelines (NCDG), a program of testing and counseling has been developed that introduces educational and career planning with our Career Coaching and career professionals. This approach examines issues of personal growth, empowerment, and transition as a foundation for development. Interests, attitudes, values, and skills are explored as students investigate various academic and occupational requirements and environments with the purpose of formulating an integrated study/career plan. These problems can be especially severe when the individual exhibits learning disabilities.
Key benefits of our Career Coaching
Our assessment and guidance approach are equally appropriate for high-school juniors and seniors about to choose a school or major, children and adults with learning disabilities, as well as to career changers.
